I’ve been contemplating the fact that this year marks 10 years of travelling a path, which I have come to realise is a “pathless path, to seek the healer within”.
Over those 10 years, that journey within has lead to the creation of various new resources, in addition to this one, which our (acknowledging my brothers) father created when he was travelling along his own worldly path.
For anyone curious, these are some of the highlighted resources developed since that life reset button was pressed in 2015, when I found myself faced with a choice of two paths. Those paths, and the chose made, are revealed by reading to the end.
EQOL – www.eqol.org.uk, an online hub designed to bring a community of people and organisations together to share information, advice and resources to support families living through epilepsy.
Neurodigest.co.uk – a resource we transformed to reflect the latest brain-gut science and research, to support health and wellbeing.
Creation of the first ever Person-Centred Healthcare Professional Society. That happened by evolving the P-CNS into the Person-Centred Neurosciences Society (www.p-cns.org.uk) with a steering committee of health professionals also diagnosed with a neurological condition.
Creation of Smarttracker (www.smarttracker.org.uk), an online practical tool developed out of growing neuroscience research, to show that prevention of mental and physical health disorders can be enabled through encouraging people to express all emotions.
Creation of an e-learning programme in order to expand the reach of a training programme for healthcare professionals on one of the most reliable and sensitive outcome measures – Therapy Outcome Measures; A measure that HCPs use to collect real world outcome data, to support the likes of investment into, and protection of, the likes of rehab services.
Creation of the Lifestyle Health Foundation – for a community of ‘ordinary’ people committed to health, healing and being well, no matter what the age of a person, so that living their best life becomes a reality.
The first ever ‘cake sale’ for charity that was really a ‘kake sale’ which we called the Tonbridge Teafest, in 2023, to raise money using non sugar cakes ie keto – so still sweet, for Brainstrust, Matthews Friends and the Lifestyle Health Foundation. There is a plan to repeat this in 2025, given all the fun that was had when we have music being heard all around Tonbridge.
And last but not least, Braincare 2024; an event to encourage people who have a living experience of a brain and/or mind, life impacting diagnosis, to come together. The main purpose being: to research the growing evidence-base of living experiences, that can breathe life into medicine and help rebalance emotional health through lifestyle neuroscience.
Those paths that were place in front of me:
To be the creator of wellness or to become a victim of illness,
It didn’t take me long to know which path to travel. 😉
I can’t think of any better way of ending this post than sharing a few quotes from perhaps one of the best “courses” that teaches a person how to find, what some may think is that “miraculous” healer within:
“Your body is your thoughts in a form you can see.
A healthy body mirrors thoughts of wellness. A sick body outpictures thoughts of illness.
If you believe others can hurt you, or you perceive value in toting your wounds, your broken body will tell that story“
“No limiting condition need be permanent. At any moment you can change your mind, which leads to transformed circumstances.
Your body doesn’t cause your thoughts. It is a result of them.”
🙏❤️
